Join the Adventure
The Catalina Outdoor Adventure Club (COAC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded from a deep love for the outdoors and a belief in the life-changing impact outdoor recreation can have on youth and families. COAC was created to expose youth to the many outdoor recreational opportunities available throughout Catalina Island.
Our mission is to educate, mentor, and facilitate FREE guided outdoor adventures — from fishing and boating to archery and marine exploration. Through these experiences, we strive to build confidence, leadership, stewardship, and lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. COAC is entirely volunteer led by dedicated community members, and all youth programs offered are 100% FREE to island youth. Our vision is simple: to change lives through adventure. Whether it is a child catching their first fish, steering a boat, hitting a bullseye, or exploring Catalina’s wilderness, these experiences create lasting memories and valuable life skills.
Since our formal establishment in Spring 2025, COAC has experienced significant growth and impact through the support of community partners including the City of Avalon and private donors. Together, we have successfully delivered a wide variety of free outdoor recreational opportunities for local youth and families
